Lithuanian Integral Museum Virtual Exhibition System

Introduced in 2010, Lithuanian Integral Museum Virtual Exhibition System is designed to spread information on cultural valuables accumulated and held in Lithuanian museums. The project enables museums to make virtual exhibitions on relevant topics that are of great interest to the public and to do it in an easy way. Exhibitions will mainly consist of the digitised images of museums' exhibits as well as some main information about them that will be provided in the descriptions.

The project was inaugurated with an exhibition “Lithuanian Folk Art” that presents works from a number of Lithuanian museums, namely Lithuanian Art Museum, Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis National Art Museum, Šiauliai Aušros Museum and Vytautas the Great War Museum. We expect it to be supplemented with some more folk artworks held in other country's museums.

2010 is the 600 year anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald (15 July, 1410), thereupon there was launched another virtual exhibition dedicated to this particular historic event, its meaning and heroes.

We hope other museums will also contribute to the project and thus attract more visitors to our virtual exhibition.
