Visitor
Opening hours:
Tuesday - Friday 9–17, Saturday 9–16.
Admission:
adults – 6 Lt (1,74 €),
pupils, students, seniors – 4 Lt (1,16 €).
Free entrance for: children under school age, children from foster home,
children under social support, the disabled of Group I and Group II,
museologists of Lithuanian republican museums, members of International
Council of Museums.
Guided tours:
charge – 20–40 Lt (5,79–11,58 €).

International musical instruments used in Lithuania long since;
Musical instruments of world nations;
Musical records, books about music, placards, photos and letters.

Multi-pipe whistles, whistles, pipes, reed-pipes, trumpets and other ancient
music instruments.
Lithuanian folk
stringed-instruments
There is exhibited kanklės (Lithuanian folk music instrument with strings)
and its’ variety, transformation to academic instrument.
Exposition of “Lithuanian
folk theatre”
There is presented a first Lithuanian art association during Soviet
Occupation. Associations’ creative work was based on original Lithuanian
folk music.
International
folk music instruments
There are exhibited instruments used in professional and folk music and have
deep tradition in Lithuania.
Musical instruments of world
nations
There is presented a collection of musical instruments from various
countries.
Exhibitions
The Museum arranges exhibitions of national art, photography, folk art,
domestic tools, musical instruments, traditional costumes and others.

The founder of the Museum is the Kaunas City Council.
