Opening hours:
Monday to Thursday 9–16;
Friday 9–15.

Admission:
free of charge.

Collection
The museum collection consists of authentic documents, publications, and examples of works made by the blind, items used by the blind to assist them in learning as well as everyday life, crafts, photographs, negatives, DVDs and CDs, personal belongings, and models of Vilnius Cathedral and Palace of the Grand Dukes.

Exposition
Lietuvos aklųjų istorijos muziejaus ekspozicijos fragmentasThe exposition permits visitors to become familiar with those organizations established for the blind in Lithuania, the education for the blind, the activities of the blind in the spheres of work and culture, paraphernalia given to assist the blind and those with poor eyesight, and artworks made by the blind (i.e. folk art and handicrafts)
All cultural matters: amateur activities in art, the achievements in sport of the blind and professionals, the means of expressing oneself through art, and activities of the Lithuanian Library for the Blind. A rather large portion of the exposition is devoted to the handiworks and folk art of the blind.

The Museum prepares exhibitions in art, literature, music, science, a social work important to the blind, and activities associated with the anniversaries of organizations for the blind.

Other news
Students may become acquainted with Braille and other means of learning for the blind as well as the ways blind may receive necessary assistance.
The Lithuanian Museum of the Blind was founded in 1977.
