Exposition
Opened in 1986, the art
exposition displays the most valuable exhibits from the selections of art
works. The exposition starts with the old and modern folk art - wood
sculpture, ceramics, painting, etc.
A separate hall presents the works of Lithuanias fine arts, among them
- the paintings of V. Smakauskas, P. Smuglevicius, V. Slendzinskis, the
lithographies from Vilnius Album by J.K.Vilcinskis.
The works of G. Bagdonavicius, S. Riomeriene, M. Katilute, S. Usinskas, P.
Eidukevicius, P. Kalpokas, M. Dobuzinskis and other authors reflect the
art of interwar Lithuania.
In 1995, in the house of S. and K. Venclauskiai, an exposition about
Venclauskiai (the family of a famous lawyer and a talented actress and
film director) and their domestic, social life and works was inaugurated.
To the memory of the family that has brought up over 100 foundlings and
poor children a sculpture Motinyste (Motherhood)
(sculptor A. Snaras) was unveiled in the museums terrace in 1993.
