The Palace of Ch. Frenkel
The palace was constructed in 1908. It is assumed that the palace was designed by Ch.Frenkel’s son Jacob. The palace is a characteristic monument of modern architecture. In this building the family of Chaim Frenkel, later his son Jacob had resided. From 1920 to 1940 a private Jew college operated in the palace. During the WWII, a German military hospital was established in the building. A great while after that, a Soviet military hospital has been operating here.
In 1994, the palace building was transferred to ‘Ausra’ (‘Dawn’) Museum.
