Exposition
The museum was founded in 1973 on
the initiative of the photographer Antanas Dilys.
In 1990, the third exposition was arranged in the museum. The exposition
presents the history of Lithuanian photography and the photographical art
works from the invention of photography and its first appearance in
Lithuania until the present times. In it the works of eminent Lithuanian
photographers, both of the past and of the present, are displayed. In
individual museum cases, the creations of the most famous Lithuanian
photographers - A. Jurasaitis, J. Cechavicius, K. Baulus, J. Bulhakas, B.
Buracas, P. Karpavicius - are stored. The photo-technology models, which
were used by Lithuanian photographers of all generations, are included in
the complete exposition.
In the museum of photography, about 20 exhibitions of the history of
photography and modern photography are organized during a year.
