Calendar Collection
On January 1st, 2004 the Calendar exposition stored about 4000 of exhibits of varied size and purpose from as many as 58 countries of the world. The total number of different calendar titles amounted to almost 200.
The calendar collection of Skriaudziai Musem of Household Life is symbolically dubbed Skriaudziai Calendar Museum.

Exposition
The calendar exposition was founded on 15/06/1997, and displayed in six halls of Skriaudziai Cultural Centre.
For the reason of space, instead of the actual 4000 calendars accumulated in the collection, `only` 2.000 of them are exhibited. The oldest calendars, published in Polish and Russian, date to the years 1848, 1849 and 1864. They were donated by the granddaughter of a book-spreader Nijole Lietuvininkaite, a resident of Kaunas. Tthe largest (80x140 cm) calendar was produced in Germany. The smallest (3-5 cm) calendar was produced in Lithuania. The oldest Lithuanian calendar was published in 1904. It is called the Calendar of Workers.
The museum has accumulated 10 calendars, each of which there is only one copy in the world. One of these calendars was created by the pupils of Skriaudziai School - The Calendar of the Lent of 1999.
The Calendar of Centuries could be used for the longest period of time, from the 18th to 21st century. This calendar was made by a Kaunas resident of Greek origin Konstantinas Mesaksudi (born in 1908 in Ukraine). K. Mesaksudi is an electrical engineer. He received his education in Germany, after that worked in France, Switzerland, and later moved to Kaunas (in 1932), where he has been living up to the present. K. Mesaksudi has supplied the museum with many other calendars created by him - for instance, the calendar of ancient Egypt, ancient Chinese cyclic calendar, the calendars of ancient Rome, ancient May Indians and others.
An extremely rare museum`s exhibit is the calendar of the Baltic Road, published in 1990. Also, the exposition presents the calendar that is being issued to all the U.S embassies of the world. This calendar has been presented by the employees of the U.S. embassy in Lithuania.
Many calendars come to the museum via post service from different places of Lithuania.
Traditionally, in the beginning of the year a considerable number of new exhibits is contributed to the museum by the most modern printing-house in Western Lithuania - that of Saulius Jokuzis, operating in Klaipeda.

Fragments from the Museum`s History
In 1997, during the organization of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Skriaudziai Household Life Museum`s establishment, a brand-new and more exciting exhibition has been planned. The anniversary exhibition displayed 336 calendars with 30 titles from 8 countries. In this way the displayed collection turned to be the commencement of a new museum.
