One of the wealthiest expositions of Lithuanian
military institutions presents history of military actions in Marijampole.
One of the oldest museum exhibits are ammunition of World War I and sword,
which is almost 200 years old, of French soldier. The most exhaustive
explanation is given about the history of the 9th Lithuanian military
regiment that was in Marijampole region in 1923–1940.
In November 23, 2005, when Lithuanian military day was held, there was
opened exposition on history of Soviet 7th air-landing divisions’
parachute troops of 119th regiment. In Marijampole this elite regiment was
settled in 1947–1992. There are exhibited Soviet
uniforms, awards, photographs and parachute.
