Birute Salatkiene
Lithuanian Museum Association, Head of Section of

Museum specialists and educated people know what a museum is and what its
purpose is in Lithuania. Many people can easily define these purposes:
to collect, to preserve, investigate and expose cultural and historical
heritage. We noticed that European countries nowadays are at the
beginning of the new stage at International Conference of Museologists
in Stockholm in June 10-13, 2001.
