Collection
Museum’s collection consists from archaeological, ethnographic,
historiographic, iconographic, folk art, numismatic, and groups of items of
other sort.
Exposition
Historical exposition
One is capable to acquaint with the history of Žemaičių Naumiestis from the
earliest days to the present.
Ethnographical exposition
Interiors of Samogitian habitable premise are installed in the Museum. One
is able to become acquainted with the mode of life, occupations and crafts
of the dwellers of Žemaičių Naumiestis and its surroundings.
Exposition of folk art
Creations of folk art are on the exhibition; one can see the numerous
collection of cross-crafting.

History of the Museum
The Museum was founded in 1962 in a premise of the secondary school of
Žemaičių Naumiestis
Its founder was history teacher Benediktas Orentas.
In 1992 Žemaičių Naumiestis Area Museum became a branch office of Šilutė
Museum.
From 2002 it was renamed once more and at the moment it is known as
the Museum of the Samogitian Land Ethnoculture Centre.
