Museum’s collection
Material about writers, priests, scientists, emigrants, political prisoners, exiles and resistants of the Prienai land is being accumulated.
Rich collection of the material (1 839 items) witnessing the life and activity of the legendary priest, fighter for the rights of believers, a member of the underground organization, political prisoner Juozas Zdebskis. 
 A lot of material has been collected about the poet Justness Marcinkevicius (898 items), Marija Aukstaitë (Kotryna Radkeviciutë-Navikevicienë) (306 items).

  • Literary Exposition
    Sacral ExpositionMaterial reflecting the life and creative activity of 30 writers of Prienai land (portraits of the writers, photographs, books, articles, award documents, and manuscripts).

  • Exposition Devoted to the Linguist Prof. Dr. Jonas Kazlauskas;

  • Exposition Devoted to the Poet Justinas Marcinkevicius;

  • Exposition Devoted to the Scientist Prof. Dr. Petras Saltis;

  • Exposition Devoted to the Writer Vytautas Bubnys;

  • Exposition Devoted to History of the Region and to Fighters For Freedom and Independence of Lithuania
    Special attention is given to heroes of LULS - Captain Kazimieras Pyplys-Mazylis (1923-1949), captain Jurgis Krisciunas-Rimvydas (1919-1949) and to one of the leaders of partisans Juozas Luksa-Daumantas. Visitors are acquainted with a way of struggle of the last leader of the partisans of the South Lithuania colonel Sergiejus Staniskis-Litas and other partisan leaders of the team of the Iron Wolf, Tauras district. Nearby the museum pillar-type crosses have been built, memorial boards suspended.

A company of singers “Marginys” has been formed at the museum.

    Address: Piliotiskes village, N. Uta, LT-59261, Prienai region.
    Opened in 1971 in the birthplace of the writer Vincas Mykolaitis-Putinas (1893-1967), the exhibition tells the story of the writer’s life and literary career.

Other news about the Museum
Established in 1994 in the home of Cezaris Psemeneckis (1887–1962), an engineer and a teacher, the museum depicts the history, ethnography and culture of the Prienai area.
