MUSEUM OF VILNIUS SPORT HISTORY

The Museum keeps the exhibits representing achievements of sportsmen from Vilnius, activities of sport organizations, participation of the Lithuanians in the Olympic Games, as well as World Lithuanian Games.

Exposition
This museum depicts the establishment of the first Lithuanian athletic organizations. Its expositions include material about the First National Games in Lithuania (1938), and focus on Lithuanian athletes' participation in the Olympic movement. The permanent exposition documents the history of the All-Lithuanian Games and contains collections of prizes won by well-known Vilnius athletes.

The Museum mostly organizes occasional and jubilee exhibitions, as well as exhibitions of sport literature, of pupils' pictures on sport topics. The first exhibitions were arranged in the Vilnius Sportsmen's House long before the official opening of the Museum.

Cultural, educational activity
Organizing of ceremonials for awarding of sport teams-winners'; Organizing of pupils' meetings with the Olympic sportsmen, sport veterans; Organizing of concerts; Traditional celebration of Holy Christmas, New Year, Shrove Tuesday for Lithuanian sport veterans.
