Museum's collection
The greatest part of the collection comprises photographs, books, documentary material connected with K. Grinius' and his family 's life and activity.
Exposition
Exposition of the first room
Exposition of the first room is devoted to reveal the most important facts of Dr. K. Grinius' life. 30x40 photographs, a big original photo-portrait of Dr. K. Grinius made in Kaunas in 1926, books written by Dr. K. Grinius (original and copies), memoirs, first issues of "Ukininkas" ("Farmer") edited by dr. K. Grinius, magazines on medicine edited by Dr. K. Grinius and magazines with his articles, as well as books, publications published about Dr. K. Grinius are used for this purpose. A bust created by a sculptor Kestutis Balciunas and a copy of urn of the remains of K. Grinius made in USA are placed in the room, photographs showing K. Grinius' death and his re-interment hang around them.
Exposition of the second room
Exposition of the second room reveals Dr. K. Grinius' political and social activity in the independent Lithuania. Photographs, postcards, books exposed tell about it.
Exposition of the third room
The part of exposition arranged in this room is devoted to dr.K.Grinius' sons: Kazys, a colonel of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Staff, Liutas, who fostered Lithuanianism in USA so actively, an associate to Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus, and his nephew Vytautas Bacevicius, the chief of staff of Tauras district, shooted dead in Tuskulenai (Vilnius).
It is planned to change a part of photographs in the exposition in the nearest future.

Occasional exhibitions are organized in the museum most often.
Cultural, educational activity
Dr.K.Grinius' activity as a doctor and politician is popularized organizing excursions, preparing booklets, showing video material;
History of Marijampole district has been prepared and is constantly supplemented;
Articles in periodicals are published.
Museum's history fragments
On January 1, 1998 Lithuanian President's K. Grinius memorial museum was founded in the house where Kazys Grinius lived in 1904-1914.
This house became the center of cultural movement of the whole Uznemune and was called "Griniai House". The first in the area public performance "America in a bathhouse" was shown in the house on May 28, 1905, meetings and rehearsals of the choir took place.
A society "Sviesa" ("Light") with a lot of branches in Suvalkija and a library of the society were established in "Griniai house".

Kazys Grinius
K. Grinius (December 17, 1886 in Selema - April 4, 1950 in Chicago).
Supporter and ideologist of the creation of the democratic state system and civic society in Lithuania. One of the founders of the Lithuanian Democratic Party in 1902, he took part in drafting its program. Author of the 1906 Program of the Party. The third President of the Republic of Lithuania (June-December 1926). Ideologist of the liberal wing of the Lithuanian national movement, contributor to the Varpas newspaper, member of its editorial committee and one of the editors.
