33,000 inhabitants, of whom 24.4% reside in towns and 75.6 % in rural areas. Of the total, 46.5% are men, and 53.5% - women. Ethnic descent: 98.6% are Lithuanian, 0.5% - Polish, 0.4% - Russian, 0.5% - of other descents.
