The Lithuanian Museum Associations' (LMA) is a volunteer, non-profit organization, which unifies Lithuania’s museums.

LMA Mission

The main purpose of the LMA is to generally support museum activities and to organize as well as promote cooperation and mutual assistance among museums.

LMA Members

LMA Members fall into the following categories: true members, sponsoring members, and honorary members.

LMA Governing Body

The governing body of the LMA is the general member assembly together with officers.

LMA Officers

Chair: Romualdas Budrys, Director, Lithuanian Art Museum.
There are also Vice-chair, a number of committees in LMA.
These are the:
Management Committee;
Collection Security, Inventory, and Protection Committee;
Collection Scientific Inquiry Committee;
Education Committee.

From LMA’s history

The LMA founding meeting took place on December 15, 1995 in Vilnius at the Lithuanian Cultural Workers’ Continuing Education Center. The first-elected LMA chair was the director of the Lithuanian Art Museum, Romualdas Budrys. December 18, 1998-Raimundas Klimavicius elected LMA chair. November 12, 1999-Aldona Ruseckaite, Director of the Maironis Lithuanian Literature Museum, elected chair, 2001- Romualdas Budrys, director of the Lithuanian Art Museum.
At present there are 73 members in the LMA.
