The “Nidos Smiltė” is the only hotel in the summer resort of Neringa which

The Herman Blode hotel was built in 1867 in the Eastern part of what at that
time was fishing settlement and became known as a house for artists.
Prominent cultural personalities of the time such as the well-known Ludwig
Passarge, Engelbert Humperding, and Thomas Mann, and many famous artists
including E. Bischoff-Culm and Hans Borschke would live there in summer
