19th

court culture (interiors, furniture, paintings, etc.)
Ensemble of Renavas estate was built in the middle of 19th century and dates
back to the period of late Classicism. Initially it was planned to build a
residential estate. The assumed owner, who built this mansion, was Anatas
Renne. The mansion of Neo-renaissance style, built in 1880, is a ranch house
with two-storey pavilions. Two terraces descend towards the river from the
South of the mansion. The front square, surrounded by different imported
trees, lies on the North. Facade of the mansion overlooks the landscape
gardens. The mansion of Renavas was passed through the male line of
inheritance. Antanas Renne did not have any children therefore he left all
his fortune to Feliksas Mielžinskis (1871–1910). Laurynas Ivinskis worked as
a teacher in this estate in 1869 and collected material for the dictionary
of botany. The mansion of Renavas also housed the efforts to establish the
silkworm farm before the World War I.
