History of the Farmstead
Agluonėnai ethnographic farmstead is one of the few remaining wooden architectural estates of Lithuania Minor. It’s a typical farmstead (around 10 ha) of a small farmer of Klaipėda region. This farmstead consists of numerous buildings, gardens, yards and decorative elements, which all reflect the specifics of the region, the lifestyle of local people and the surrounding environment.
The museum was founded in 1983. Besides, the Agluonėnai Barn theatre also functions at the stackyard of the farmstead, which organizes various theatre performances, concerts, exhibitions as well as community festivals. Since 2006 the Agluonėnai ethnographic farmhouse has become a branch of Gargždai Area museum.
