About

Opened in 1993, the sport exposition of Lithuania War Museum introduces the
visitors to the history of Lithuanian sport since its origins until the
present time. The most popular sport branch in Lithuania – basketball –

by the ‘Žalgiris’ basketball team in 1986), personal belongings of the
basketball players M. Paulauskas and A. Sabonis, etc.
Another sport branches, such as football, handball, boxing, swimming, and
rowing, are also represented in the museum’s exposition. The exhibits
reflect the life of Lithuanian sportsmen in emigration and exile, the
achievements of Lithuanian sport in emigration. In the museum, an original
award waist-belt decorated with medals of the Lithuanian P. Mikuličius, a
boxing champion of Australia, and a tennis racket belonging to Vitas
Gerulaitis are displayed.
