Collection
 The
Museum's collection consists of 1136 cores (coring has been started in 1953)
removed from the depth of more than 2 km and kept in a mechanized reservoir
in Vievis (the core is a cylindrical rock column, procured by a way of
column boring. It is a geological record of the place and the main source of
geological information) In Vievis museum the one can also find archives of
Lithuanian geologists and collections of geological samples.
