Educational programmes, projects, lectures, survey and
thematic excursions, classes are permanently arranged in Lithuanian museums.
Educational activities are oriented to different age and social groups.
During it historical events and phenomenons, world of art, traditions,
everyday living of people of the past are presented through series of
non-traditional and attractive methods.
Educational programmes are organized respectively to
themes of expositions and temporary exhibitions, interest of educators and
visitors, and other requests. Theoretic and practical sessions are held in
exhibition halls, specially equipped classrooms, workshops and collections.
During the sessions museum’s exhibits, archeological findings, archival
documents, visual and other materials are used.
Educational programmes aim to train visitors’ creativity,
observation, language, analytic, evaluative and group-working skills, it
also helps to create a fresh look on particular events or objects.
Many museums organize exhibitions of schoolchildren’s
creation.
