Collection
Number of museums common protected displays is 4 670.
In the main fund among there are 3 756 displays.
One collection is made up of books, manuscripts if A. Matutis, his
typewritten works, personal items, photos, epistolary materials.
Exposition
The Museum is established in a building in which A. Matutis-Matulevicius
(1923–1985) lived from 1961.
Museum's expositions are set up in two rooms.
First room is the memorial cabinet of A. Matutis. His furniture, personal
library, his written books, souvenirs, writing materials, national woven
sashes donated to A. Matutis, are exhibited.
International H. K. Anderson's diploma, which was presented to A. Matutis in
1984 for his poetry collection Margaspalve genio kauke (Variegated color
pecker's forge) is hung in a place of honor.
The second room exposition tells about the poet's self indulgences: fishing,
trips, country recreation. Here one can catch sight of his fishing
accessories; sea charms from far away trips, souvenirs from Kola Peninsula.
The room's walls are adorned with Albina Makunaite illustrations for the
poet's book Dvylikos sveciu lauktuves (Awaiting Twelve Quests).
Exhibitions
Exhibitions of childrens' art creations are being prepared at the museum.
Cultural, educational activity
Special educational occupations are being organized for students according
to A. Matutis' creative work. Annually during the poet's birthday various
events take place: play performances, get-togethers, contents of childrens
creative works.

news
Opened in 1988, the museum is located in the former home in which writer
Anzelmas Matutis (Anzelmas Matulevicius, 1917–1985) lived from 1961 until
his death.
