Collection
573 exponents are guarded in the museum, while 184 of them are in the basic
fund.
The museum's collection is made up of Antanas Jonynas books, manuscripts,
Braille literary works, photos, photo negatives and the writer's personal
objects.
Exposition
The museum's exposition is made up in two rooms in western section of the
building.
The home environment of the Jonynas family is created in the largest room,
filled with furniture of the third decade and walls adorned family photos
and family genealogical tree.
Coverlets from the chest of Morta Jonynienė, several books, lantern and
other family relics are exhibited.
An exhibit assigned to life and activity of Antanas Jonynas is set up in the
second room. Books, photos, documents, Braille writing materials and the
writer's personal items are shown. All these items reveal the writer's life
style, creativity and weak-sighted persons.
Cultural, educational activity
Traditional Poetry Springtime organising in the museum's court-yard;
Organising evening meetings with poets, writers and actors.
Organising Autumn Poetry-music Festival.
According to requests, educational pursuits are organised for
schoolchildren.
Other
news
Founded in 1989, the museum is located in the hometown of writer Antanas
Jonynas (1923–1976), where he lived until 1940.
A. Jonynas lived here until 17yrs old, when due to illness he lost sight and
left to study
in Kaunas.
The League of Lithuanian Blind and Weak Sighted persons established the
museum.
