The project “Way of the Museums of Lithuania” was taking place for four months. 87 museums presented to visitors 147 exceptional events. Cultural festivals, meetings with artists, travellers, authors of unique projects, educational projects, and hospitable weekends in museum exhibitions, shows, historical spaces and other cultural events 83 days delighted their visitors and guests. The project was held by the Association of Lithuanian Museums. Upon the unison request of the museums, the project will be continued. The year of 2013 will be dedicated for actualization of the January Uprising (1863) and disclosure of its meaning and importance.

2012 – Museum year in Lithuania

The Lithuanian government has declared 2012 as the Year of Museums. 2012 marks the 200 year anniversary of the opening of Lithuania’s first public museum. Museums from all over the country are highlighting this year! More >

March 18, 2010 Lithuanian Art Museum signed an agreement concerning the project “Implementation of Lithuanian Integral Museum Information System LIMIS in Lithuanian Museums”, that is sponsored by EU Structural Funds.
